Emission
The Emission feature allows parts of your material to glow, creating self-illuminated areas that are visible even in darkness.
Main Parameters
Use Emission
Toggle to enable or disable the emission effect.
Emission Color
Sets the color of the emissive glow. This can be set to HDR values for a more intense effect.
Emission Map
A grayscale texture that controls where the emission appears. White areas glow with the emission color, while black areas have no emission.
Emission Mul By Base Color
Controls how much the emission color is influenced by the base color of the material. At 0, the emission uses only the emission color; at 1, it's fully multiplied by the base color.
Emission Blend Mode
Determines how the emission is blended with the base material:
- Normal: Standard additive emission
- Add: Brightens the underlying color
- Screen: Creates a softer brightening effect
- Multiply: Tints the base color with the emission color
Usage
Emission is perfect for creating glowing elements like energy effects, lights, or magical details:
- Enable "Use Emission"
- Set the Emission Color to your desired glow color
- Assign an Emission Map to control where the glow appears
- Choose an appropriate Emission Blend Mode for your effect
Emission works well with other effects like Rim Light to create more complex glowing materials.
