Specular

The Specular feature adds controllable highlights to your material, simulating the reflection of light sources on the surface.

Main Parameters

Use Specular

Toggle to enable or disable the specular effect.

Specular Color

Sets the color of the specular highlights. This can be set to HDR values for more intense highlights.

Specular Power

Controls the size and sharpness of the specular highlights. Lower values create larger, softer highlights, while higher values create smaller, sharper highlights.

Specular Gloss

Adjusts the smoothness of the specular highlight edges. Higher values create smoother transitions.

Specular Mask

A grayscale texture that controls where the specular highlights appear. White areas show full specular highlights, while black areas show no highlights.

Usage

Specular highlights are useful for creating the appearance of shiny or reflective surfaces:

  1. Enable "Use Specular"
  2. Set the Specular Color to your desired highlight color
  3. Adjust Specular Power to control the size and sharpness of the highlights
  4. Set Specular Gloss to fine-tune the smoothness of the highlight edges
  5. Use the Specular Mask to control where highlights appear

Specular works well with Normal Mapping to create more detailed surface reflections.
