Base Settings
The Base Settings section contains the fundamental parameters that control the overall appearance of your material.
Main Parameters
Base Map
The primary texture used for your material. This texture defines the basic color information across the surface.
Base Color
A color tint that is multiplied with the Base Map. This allows you to adjust the overall color of your material without changing the texture.
Alpha Mask
A grayscale texture that controls the transparency of your material. White areas are fully opaque, while black areas are fully transparent. This is primarily used when the material is set to Cutout or Transparent rendering mode.
Usage
The Base Settings form the foundation of your material's appearance. Start by setting these parameters before moving on to more advanced features:
- Assign your main texture to the Base Map slot
- Adjust the Base Color to achieve the desired color tone
- If you need transparency, configure the Alpha Mask
These settings work in conjunction with the Lighting Settings to create the basic toon shaded appearance of your material.
